The linebacker position lost the terrific Trevin Wallace this offseason, but looks like it should be strong once again in 2024. The starters are both veterans who look to be a terrific pair. Mark Stoops and his staff are looking to establish quality depth and Sophomore Noah Matthews will be a part of that.
Matthews was a prospect in the 2022 class, and was rated three stars by 247sports. Not a lot of high level programs were recruiting him, but he did have an offer from Illinois. He originally committed to Weber State, but flipped to Kentucky after they offered him.

Matthews redshirted in 2022, and saw action in 10 games last season. He had six tackles in limited action. He hopes to see an increased role in 2024.
Kentucky’s linebacker unit is very young after their top three guys, so Matthews has a shot at being their fourth guy there. Regardless, he certainly has a shot at contributing in his Sophomore season.
