If Kentucky football is going to overcome tremendous odds and make a run to the top of the SEC, they’ll need a big season from quarterback Brock Vandagriff. The Cats new passer has some good weapons to work with, including a pair of terrific wide receivers. They also have a tight end group with potential, including Jordan Dingle.
This is the next in a series of articles getting to know the 2024 Kentucky football team. We’ll count down the days until the season starts and look at the players who wear the number that matches the number of days left. Number 85 is tight end Jordan Dingle.
Dingle was a member of the 2021 recruiting class, and 247sports had him rated three stars. He was their number 33 tight end in the class.
In his first year of play, he caught 20 passes for 220 yards and was named to the Freshman All-SEC team. Last year, he caught fewer passes, but he averaged 22.5 yards per catch.
Dingle will certainly be one of the main tight ends in 2024, and should be a terrific safety valve for Vandagriff. He’s a talented player, and fans should expect to see a lot of him.
