The Jaguars’ stadium used a tracing of Trevor Lawrence in a promo and got caught

Busted!

Look, the Jaguars can’t say it just yet, but we all know Trevor Lawrence will be their pick at the top of the 2021 NFL Draft next month. In the meantime, Urban Meyer and the rest of the Jacksonville brain trust will have to pretend like it’s still in doubt.

The Instagram account for TIAA Bank Field, where the Jags play their home games, will need to do a better job of following suit, it appears.

In an announcement for the bank’s “Meet the Pick” sweepstakes, the stadium’s Instagram account used a generic drawing of a quarterback. But guess what? It turns out that the drawing isn’t so generic after all, as one Jags fan discovered …

Yep, that’s a tracing of Lawrence.

Think it’s a coincidence? Well, I took the time to superimpose the drawing over the photo in question and, yeah, it’s a perfect match…

Everything lines up perfectly, right down to Lawrence’s wrist bands. Even the No. 1 on his jersey was traced and just moved over to the left a bit.

The artist figured they could omit the hair and change the number and nobody would notice, and … well, they probably should have gotten away with it but the internet is a weird place, man. People notice these things.

At this point, we can all stop pretending there’s any intrigue, right? Lawrence is going to be the pick. The Jaguars should already be selling jerseys and slapping his equine face on billboards all over town. The stadium is just ahead of the curve.

The first round of the draft takes place on April 29.
