With December comes championship football, at least at the high school and college level. The state of Alabama is in the middle of their high school championship games, and on Tuesday night the undefeated Thompson Warriors – playing in their third-straight title game – playing the 12-1 Auburn Tigers in the Class 7A Championship Game at Bryant-Denny Stadium on the campus of the University of Alabama.
The ending has to be seen to be believed.
With just over one minute remaining, Auburn led Thompson 28-19. They lined up in punt formation looking to pin the Warriors deep. Most people thought the contest was over:

But the Warriors got a huge play on special teams to start the improbable comeback:
Oh Thompson. Not over yet 7A fans. Punt is blocked. Auburn 28, Thompson 26 | :18 4Q | Thompson must get onside kick. pic.twitter.com/ku4HqIUD2d

The Warriors blocked the punt, and with the extra point they were suddenly within two points, with just second left. They would need the onside kick.
Which they recovered:

Then, they got into field goal range thanks to a pair of pass interference penalties, setting up this game-winning field goal attempt from Trevor Hardy.
And he drilled it:
