The good, the bad and the ugly from the Vikings’ win over the Panthers

Here is the good, the bad and the ugly from the Minnesota Vikings’ win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Week 12 of the NFL season.

Minnesota needed a lot to go its way in order to defeat Carolina. And honestly, a lot did not go its way.

The Vikings had two fumbles returned for touchdowns. The defense gave up the occasional big play. And the team was bailed out when the Panthers missed what would have been a game-winning field goal.

The Vikings still played a decent game, though. Kirk Cousins led a game-winning drive. Justin Jefferson had another good day. The Minnesota defense held Carolina to just 13 points.

This was not the best version of the Vikings in 2020. That said, Minnesota has been on the other end of so many close defeats this season, the team was bound to win one.
