Much to the chagrin of nine-limbed alien monsters everywhere, the Dead Space remake is likely coming out in early 2023.
During Friday’s developer stream, EA Motive announced its targeting the first half of next year to release the remake. There is no solid date yet, but it’s surely far too soon for that.
“We want to make sure that we are in a place where the game we’re going to deliver is going to be building upon the expectations of fans,” EA Motive said via IGN. “So right now, we’ll say early next year. We have a date in mind and we want to make sure that everything converges for this.”
You can watch the entire Dead Space remake presentation below. Keep in mind that this showcase is just showing off EA Motive’s technology, and it’s not a demo. The studio claimed we’re only a couple of weeks away from seeing how the game plays, though.
The footage reveals some of the impressive audio effects work going into this remake. Particularly in how positional audio will play a significant role in nailing that classic Dead Space feel. All the gnarly limb contortions fans come to expect will sound better than ever.
