The Indianapolis Colts were a yard away from possibly keeping their season alive, but a throw-and-drop between quarterback Gardner Minshew and running back Tyler Goodson slammed that door shut.
On what’s sure to be one of the most talked-about plays of the weekend, Minshew had Goodson open on 4th-and-1 in the red zone with about a minute left in the game, Indy just needing a touchdown and extra point to take the lead and likely beat the Houston Texans.
However, the throw from Minshew was a bit too off and the hands from Goodson not close enough to the ball to secure the catch.
A brutal drop effectively ended Indianapolis’ season and sent the Texans to the playoffs. This entire sequence of events will surely linger with Colts fans for some time after Saturday’s loss.

This is just such an awful way to lose, and NFL fans felt it in real time as Minshew and Goodson’s difficult sequence kept the Colts at home for the AFC playoffs this year.
If you’re a Texans fan, well, what a way to win your way into the playoffs against a division rival.
