You want to know how much the Kansas City Chiefs have heard the trash talk from the Cincinnati Bengals all week?
Star defensive tackle Chris Jones had an answer on Friday.
While talking to reporters, he kept referring to Arrowhead Stadium — the home of the Chiefs — as “Burrowhead” Stadium. Yes, that’s the nickname the Bengals bestowed on the Chiefs’ home after Joe Burrow beat Kansas City there last year.
It was a clear sign that Jones and the Chiefs aren’t taking lightly what the Bengals are saying. And in the war of words that’s included Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay saying “nothing” impressed him about Cincy’s offense, clearly they had the last word here:
Chiefs star Chris Jones on running it back against hte Bengals: "It's like a full 360, right? Same thing, same circumstances (at) Burrowhead Stadium."
Q: "Did you say Burrowhead?"
A: "Yeah. Burrowhead Stadium, right?"(Stay for the end for a third Burrowhead reference) pic.twitter.com/iyyZi5kvBm
