The Buccaneers have had the most random/awesome offseason ever

How did this all happen to Tampa Bay?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off three straight losing seasons, they haven’t been to the playoffs since 2007. and they haven’t won a single playoff game since 2002 when Jon Gruden led them to a Super Bowl title.

But now they have Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski on their roster?

Sure, yeah. Makes total sense!

The Buccaneers pulled off a trade with the Patriots on Tuesday that brought Gronk out of retirement and to Tampa, a city where one usually goes to retire. He joins the GOAT, who also headed south to retirement-land last month.

Bananas.

Oh, and sorry Julian Edelman but all of your buddies are now somewhere else, which has to be sad but funny for others.

My pal Steven Ruiz wrote about how this move is a fun one for Tampa but it won’t help the Bucs much because of a few of Gronk’s issues that arose down the stretch of his run with the Patriots.

I totally agree with Steven, who knows football on a much deeper level than I do. So go read his column on the move.

But what I can’t get over is somehow the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a franchise which for the most part has been awful over the years and has played many homes games in a half-full stadium that has a pirate ship in it, now has the best-ever QB and possibly the best-ever tight end – who currently owns a WWE belt, too – on their roster.

That’s the most awesome/random offseason I think I’ve ever seen in NFL history and it makes me hope even more that the 2020 NFL season can go on because this Bucs team is now even more must-watch TV than it was after the Brady signing.

Imagine learning this news last October? You would have laughed at the person who told you Brady and Gronk would be teaming up again, though in Tampa.

The Patriots for all these years have been the team to go to in order to be a winner. The Bucs for most years is the team you go to if you want your games to only be televised on local markets.

But not now. Brady and Gronk are teaming up to try to go to at least one more Super Bowl, which of course will be played in Tampa this season.

What a few months for the gosh darn Bucs. Hopefully we’ll get to see this whole thing play out in a few months, because it’s gonna be awesome.

Well, the thought of any sports right now would be awesome.

But Brady and Gronk with the Bucs?

Let’s go!

Tuesday’s biggest winner not named the Tampa Bay Bucs: “Madden” Twitter.

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

I, like everyone else who is on Twitter, loves when a brand account doesn’t take itself too seriously and can have some fun. That’s what the folks at “Madden” did after the Ravens leaked the news that Lamar Jackson would be this year’s cover player.
