The Brooklyn Nets must win a championship this season. Following the acquisitions of James Harden, Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge – and assembling a roster that has 41 combined All-Star appearances – it’s a championship or bust year.
Steve Nash made it clear in October that Brooklyn is “playing for a championship.” At the time he already felt there was enough talent on his squad, but now he has weapons like Harden, Griffin and Aldridge to utilize.
Nets guard Kyrie Irving also made a statement in January that the Brooklyn Nets will be in the NBA Finals this year via a post on his Instagram. “We will be on that stage,” Irving wrote, “the stage where the ‘best of the best’ meet … you know. The main stage.”

In January, NBA legend Shaquille O’ Neal also chimed in on this championship aspiration from Brooklyn. Shaq alluded that this in fact is a championship or “bust” year with the addition of James Harden for Brooklyn.
