The broadcast map revealed for Vikings vs. Chiefs in Week 5

Unless you like in Broncos or Jets country, you’ll get the Vikings game

No matter where you are in the country, chances are good you’re going to be able to watch the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. Unless you’re in the Rocky Mountains or portions of the northeast, you’re going to be treated to the Vikings taking on the Kansas City Chiefs in CBS’s premier afternoon slot.

As such, you’ll also be getting CBS’s top announcer team of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo.

When the league put this one on the schedule, they likely had a very different hope for how things would pan out. Unfortunately, the Vikings have been unable to get out of their own way this season, on their way to a 1-3 record. The Chiefs have held up their end of the bargain, coming into Sunday’s game at 3-1, sitting atop the AFC West, and riding a three-game win streak.

The Vikings got their first win of the season last week against the Carolina Panthers and look to get closer to .500 against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. That’s easier said than done, but this isn’t the high-flying, explosive Chiefs offense of past seasons. With the exception of their Week 3 matchup against the Bears, the Chiefs have failed to score more than 25 points in each of their games this season.

The same can be said for the Vikings, as they too have failed to reach 25 points in three of their four games this season. At the very least, we should see some potent passing from Mahomes and Kirk Cousins, as both offenses like to spread the ball around.

This week’s game may be a slugfest, and it’s a fitting matchup for most of the country to have in the spotlight. For those of you not getting the Vikings game this week (the areas in blue), you’ll have Zach Wilson and the Jets squaring off against Russell Wilson and the Broncos, with Andrew Catalon, Tiki Barber, and Matt Ryan on the call (via 506Sports).
