One of the most fascinating highlights of the college football season so far might be the absurdly awesome throwing motion of Long Island freshman quarterback Chris Howell.
In a clip that has since gone viral, college football fans were amazed at the way Howell threw the football as he completed a long pass down the field to one of his receivers.
The announcer on the ESPN game feed called Howell’s throwing motion a “side arm swing,” and it was somewhat reminiscent of the way Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite threw the football in that movie (you know, just with the total athleticism, college football standing and clear success rate that Uncle Rico couldn’t have dreamed of).
Needless to say, the way Howell slings it is going to be a point of absolute fascination for college football fans for the rest of the season.

This might not be considered normal for quarterback throwing mechanics, but if it works, it works!
We’re certainly going to be watching for more Howell highlights as the season goes on and very excited to see more of this unique throwing motion make some long passes.
