ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan football kicked off the 2022 season in grand style on Saturday.
The Wolverines took the field against the Colorado State Rams and fired on nearly all cylinders, with the offense making big plays while the defense particularly impressed. The maize and blue defensive side of the ball sacked the quarterback seven times and notched 11 tackles for loss. Additionally, the defense, which had focused on turnovers this offseason, caused two. A forced fumble was returned for a touchdown by cornerback DJ Turner and safety Rod Moore produced the team’s first interception of the season. On special teams, kicker Jake Moody went 3-for-3.
As usual, WolverinesWire’s Isaiah Hole was on the sidelines and captured much of the action from Michigan football’s 2022 season opener.
