The best photos from Washington’s victory over Weber State

The Washington Huskies cruised to an easy victory over Weber State.

After a rough first quarter, the Washington Huskies cruised to an easy 35-3 victory to kick off the Jedd Fisch era on Montlake. While there’s still plenty of room for improvement from the Huskies, especially along the offensive line, there are a lot of positives to take away from the team’s debut in the Big Ten.

Running back Jonah Coleman looked like a superstar, taking 16 carries for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns, dicing up the Wildcats with an impressive combination of power, speed, and agility.

Quarterback Will Rogers made an admirable debut, finishing 20 of 26 for 250 yards and a touchdown, helping wide receiver Giles Jackson finish with 10 catches for 98 yards, while Denzel Boston tallied 7 catches for 76 yards and a score. But Boston’s score came from true freshman Demond Williams Jr., while Rogers found another true freshman, tight end Decker DeGraaf, for a 33-yard score.

Defensively, linebacker Alphonzo Tuputala and edge rusher Voi Tunuufi combined for Washington’s only sack of the night, and while the run defense showed some room for improvement, the secondary was dominant. The Huskies tallied 7 pass breakups and held Wildcats quarterback Riche Muñoz to just 98 passing yards and a 34 percent completion percentage.
