Kentucky basketball opened up its SEC season on Saturday by beating the Florida Gators 106 – 100 in an exciting game. It was a fast-paced game, with terrific shooting, as expected, and the Wildcats just managed to do enough to hold on.
Florida got out in front early on in the game, but Kentucky stormed back and led by 10 at the half. In the second half, the Gators got it within one a couple of times, and kept it close. However, the Cats had an answer every time and got the win.

Koby Brea led six Wildcats in double figures with 23 points. He was 7-of-9 from three-point range. Lamont Butler added 19 points and 8 assists. Amari Williams was also very good, with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
