The best part of being in Cleveland in late February? Showing you belong. So, yes, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Monday he is enthusiastic and eager for the opportunity for his staff to coach the NBA All-Star Game. “It’s hard to win in this league, hard to have the best record in the conference in this league,” Spoelstra said, with his team standing with just that at Sunday’s deadline for selection of All-Star coaches. “And our guys understand how tough it’s been this season and it’s only going to get tougher. But for a short period of time, for a weekend, we can acknowledge, as a team and staff, that there’s been a lot of hard work and a collective will to overcome adversity, to be able to get to this point.”
