Kentucky baseball will be making its first ever trip to the College World Series after winning the Lexington Super Regional on Sunday. It was game filled with big moments, including a daring run home in the seventh inning by Nolan McCarthy for what would be the game-winning run.
McCarthy was the hero of the day, involved in the scoring of all three Wildcats runs. He doubled in the first run in the second inning, then hit a sacrifice fly to send home the second run.

The third run was the play of the night. McCarthy was on second, when a wild pitch sent him running to third. He quickly realized that the pitcher hadn’t covered home, and sprinted ahead, diving at the plate for the go-ahead run.
Kentucky will face either North Carolina State, or the Georgia Bulldogs in their first game in Omaha, but for now, they’ll celebrate the big win. Here are some of the best images from their win over Oregon State Sunday night.
