After losing Nate Yeskie to the LSU Tigers Texas A&M Baseball was on the hunt for a new pitching coach. Well, the search is over, and they found a good one in Max Weiner.
Weiner is one of the youngest and brightest coaches in the game of baseball. He comes over to the Aggies after spending the past few years as the Seattle Mariners pitching coordinator. Forbes named him to the Forbes 30 Under 30 2023: Sports and founded The Arm Farm at the ripe old age of 19 to help assist young and amateur pitchers with their in-person and online pitching curriculum for pitching development.
Ryan Brauninger of TexAgs is a fan of the hire and below are his thoughts.
“I really like this hire a lot. Weiner comes to College Station with a hugely popular reputation in the baseball world for being one of the top young pitching minds in the game. This is going to make some waves across the collegiate and professional landscape. Weiner has been at the cutting edge of this ‘new age’ of pitching, which is centered around blending the wave of the latest technology available with a personal feel. He’ll have to cut his teeth as a recruiter in the toughest league in college baseball, but even at the ripe age of 28, the cache he’s already built will get the attention of a lot of players, parents and coaches.”

Being able to grab one of the young minds in the game today is an absolute win for Coach Shloss and should help move Texas A&M forward with some innovative tools for development.
