The 5 best bets you can make on Tiger Woods vs. Phil Mickelson and The Match II

Here are some odds to put your money on.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson brought along a couple of very famous friends for The Match: Champions for Charity on Sunday: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, both of whom are pretty good on the links.

If you’re a sports bettor who’s been itching to put money on some live action — besides table tennis, of course — then this is the event to do it.

So let’s go over some of the best bets you can make ahead of the event that will probably include some money exchanging hands between the participants in the middle of the contest.

1. Tournament winner (Mickelson/Brady +175)

Look: I’m like most people and thinking Tiger and Peyton are going to win this thing. Manning is the X-factor — he’s had more time to play and prepare while Brady has continued his NFL career and moved to Tampa, where we just saw him practicing with his new teammates this week.

But at -200, the value is long gone. So I’m fine with throwing some money on the upset just in case it happens.

2. Longest drive on hole 3 (Mickelson +150)

Credit to our friends at Golfweek, who pointed out Mickelson was outdriving Woods in 2020.

3. Hole on which the match will be won (16th +350, 17th +300, 18th or later +160)

I like any of these. I don’t expect an absolute blowout and with the craziness of the second half of the match, there’s a chance it’ll be won late.

4. To be leading after 3 holes (Mickelson/Brady +220)

The third hole is a par-five, and that’s where I wonder if the longer-hitting Mickelson takes advantage.

5. Who will lead after 9 holes? (Woods/ Manning -106)

Tiger being a member at Medalist, plus the format (best ball) in the front nine makes me think this is the way to go.
