That time Tom Brady bested Drew Brees in the closing seconds

Take a look back now at Tom Brady’s victory over Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in 2013, when a last-second score secured the win.

If you’re the NFL, this is the dream you’ve been waiting for: Six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady leaves the New England Patriots and heads to the NFC South, home of Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. That means, twice next season, we will get to see these two future Hall of Famers battle it out on the field with the division on the line.

Brady and Brees will easily go down as two of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the position, so it seems only fitting we get to see this dream scenario play out in real life at least once before they both retire.

But this won’t be the first time the two have squared off against each other. Brady is 2-1 in his career against Brees, with his most exciting victory coming back in Week 6 of the 2013 season when the Saints visited Brady’s Patriots. With the Saints leading 27-23 with just over two minutes remaining in the game, Brady marched the Pats down the field before hitting wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins for a 17-yard touchdown with five seconds remaining. The Patriots would go on to win 30-27.

Take a look at the memorable play below.
