The Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed help coming into Sunday Night football after a dominant showing against the Carolina Panthers earlier on Sunday, all eyes were on the matchup between the Commanders and Falcons. Baker Mayfield spoke post game that he was going to be a “big Jayden Daniels fan.”
Baker Mayfield’s Heisman Trophy brethren came through for him when he led the Commanders to an overtime win against the Falcons.
The Falcons dropped a game behind the Bucs heading into Week 18, which means Tampa Bay has control of its destiny once again. All that stands between them and the NFC South division title is a win over the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints and Bucs faced off in Week 6 this season by a wide margin of 51 to 27. The Bucs will be favored heading into the matchup, but they can’t afford a stumble like they did against the Cowboys in Week 16.
The Falcons are scheduled to play the Panthers in Week 17.
