Texas Longhorns wide receiver Tarik Black didn’t hear his name called during the 2021 NFL draft and went undrafted. However, he didn’t have to wait too long to find a new home. The Texas receiver agreed to sign as an undrafted free agent with the Indianapolis Colts.
Black, a 6-foot-3, 217-pound Michigan transfer, played one season as a receiver for the Longhorns and caught 10 passes for 240 yards and a touchdown in six games.

Black, like Brennan Eagles, was an underdeveloped receiver who probably could have benefited from one more season in college but chose instead to take his chances at the pro level.
He’ll join fellow Texas Longhorn teammate Sam Ehlinger, who was drafted by the Colts in the sixth round. The Colts were one of the receiver-needy teams going into the draft, and Black’s athleticism and connection with Ehlinger could potentially make him a sleeper player to make the final roster.
