1. What it means for Oklahoma
Is this when Oklahoma turns everything around?
After almost blowing a third straight game it had in the bag, the Sooners made the defensive stop it had to have in the third and fourth overtimes, it made the plays that Texas didn’t, and the season might have just been saved.
Give Oklahoma credit here. Everything was ripe for going right into the tank, and it got through this game after the last two tough losses, and there’s still a shot at coming up with a good year by any normal standards.
The College Football Playoff is long gone, but the Big 12 title is back on the table. OU has to keep fighting through its road world of four straight games away from Norman, going to TCU next week and with a trip to Texas Tech to follow.
However, Oklahoma State and Baylor are at home as part of a run of three home games in the final four. Going to West Virginia won’t be easy, but …
It’s Oklahoma. It’s supposed to rip through the rest of its schedule, go to another Big 12 championship, and win it all over again.
Oh yeah, and the Sooners beat Texas for the fifth time in six tries.
