What to know for fans traveling to Texas at Michigan?

Ann Arbor is not a suburb of Detroit and if you are staying in a city in metro Detroit, you may have an hour drive to the stadium.

If you are flying directly into Detroit Metropolitan International Airport (DTW) and were able to secure a place to stay in Ann Arbor, you will only have a half and hour drive without traffic.

For tailgating, there are good places to set up your tailgate, like the Ann Arbor Golf & Outing Club, which is an ideal place to go as there is space available more often than not. For parking, fans tend to prefer to park at places like Ann Arbor Pioneer High School if you are not tailgating at the golf course near by.

For those coming in a day or two early, places like Royal Oak and Birminhgam are cool cities to walk around and downtown Detroit has some cool places to see and taking the Qline up and down Woodword Avenue or the PeopleMover to go around the loop of downtown Detroit allows you to get to places more quickly.

The biggest non-conference game of the year has some big ticket prices. There are a few tickets to the Big House available for around $176 dollars. That’s down from the lowest price of $282 last week.  You’ll need the equivalent to a car down payment for the best seats in Michigan Stadium. The average prices are just over $300.

Saturday’s weather

For those fans looking to escape the Texas heat or the Longhorns players wanting to play a game in the Midwest with a traditional early-fall afternoon weather game, this is the game for you.

The forecast predicts a high of 62 degrees with clouds in the morning and partially cloudy during the game. There is a slight chance of rain but if it rains, it will be spotty and light.

You may want to bring a light jacket with a hoodie if it rains and is a little cooler than expected but it should be a great day for an early fall football game.
