Texas receives commitment from 2021 kicker Bert Auburn

The Longhorns picked up their first 2021 commitment under Steve Sarkisian. They are added an unranked kicker from Flower Mound, Texas.

On Sunday, the Longhorns earned their first 2021 commitment under Steve Sarkisian.

Every other commitment from the 2021 class happened under the eyes of former head coach Tom Herman.

After signing a punter in the early signing period with Isaac Pearson of Pro Kick Australia, the Longhorns added a kicker with Bert Auburn. Auburn doesn’t have a recruiting ranking but recently has been picking up steam on the recruiting trail. Programs such as Florida State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Oregon State have shown interest. The Longhorns extended an offer just four days ago to the all-district kicker.

With Cameron Dicker being the current kicker, Auburn will likely sit for at least a year before he will get his opportunity for the Longhorns. The Flower Mound kicker was named all-district first team for both kicker and punter in the Texas High School 6-6A district. Auburn is now Austin bound.

The talented kicker showed off his leg in a video posted on Twitter the day after Christmas.
