Texas quarterback Hudson Card headed to Indiana program

Which leaves Notre Dame chasing who?

Former Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Hudson Card entered the transfer portal earlier this winter and was quickly named as a possible target for Notre Dame. As it turns out he’s heading to the state of Indiana to play for a team who wears a gold helmet, but not for Notre Dame.

Card announced on Monday that his next stop will be Purdue.

Although it was always going to be tough to get Card aligned with Notre Dame due to him being an undergraduate transfer, it’s still another name off the portal list for the Irish.

Drew Pyne seemed to know Notre Dame was seeking a quarterback in the portal, hence why he transferred to Arizona State. The biggest name for Notre Dame fans to keep an eye on now is one that isn’t technically in the portal yet, Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman.

He has said he doesn’t plan to return to Wake Forest for a sixth season. Now if he officially enters the portal can Notre Dame close the deal like they’ve struggled to do to date in the portal this December?
