The first half of the opening game in 2020 is now in the books.
The Texas Longhorns entered the second quarter up 21-0. Sam Ehinger set a career high with 429 yards passing and five touchdowns. In just the first half of a football game. The graduate transfers got involved in the second quarter with Brendan Schooler and Tarik Black found the endzone.
Texas would end the quarter with a total of 24 points, more than they scored in the first quarter. The Longhorns weren’t able to get the running game going but the ‘Air Raid’ was alive and well. Joshua Moore, Cade Brewer, Tarik Black, Brendan Schooler and Kai Money all recipients of Ehlinger touchdown throws in the first half.
The defense was able to hold the UTEP Miners to just 121 total yards while Texas has racked up over 500 yards.
