Lincoln Riley owns Tom Herman and Texas
Let’s call it like it is. Lincoln Riley owns Herman and the Longhorns in the same way that Gary Patterson does. Of course that isn’t something that transpires by happenstance. Riley is a good coach who gets the most out of his guys whenever these two teams face. Riley and Herman took over their jobs in 2017, in that time Oklahoma has won three of four meetings.
In his two victories over Herman, Riley has used different quarterbacks with Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts. This year he will deploy talented freshman Spencer Rattler. On the other side Sam Ehlinger has been the quarterback in each and every game. So the question is can Riley get Rattler to take that next step in this game?
