Texas Longhorns offensive coordinator is one of the highest paid assistants

USA TODAY Sports released their database containing the contract information on assistant coaches, much the same as head coaches.

Earlier in the year, the USA TODAY Sports team released their database of the coaching salaries for most of the FBS head coaches. Tom Herman ranked at No. 11 after being No. 7 last year. Now the top assistant coach salaries have been released. Where do Mike Yurcich and Chris Ash rank among their peers?

Mike Yurcich comes in as the 10th highest paid assistant coach in college football. His $1.7 million salary reduced to $1.56 due to the pandemic reductions. That puts Yurcich as the second-highest paid assistant coach in the Big 12 Conference behind Oklahoma‘s defensive coordinator Alex Grinch.

The next highest assistant at Texas would be defensive coordinator Chris Ash, who ranks at No. 62 overall. His $800,000 salary reduced to $735,104 due to the pandemic.
