Texas Football: Wishlist for future nonconference opponents

Nothing gets DKR hyped quite like a nonconference matchup. Here is a wishlist to Chris Del Conte for future nonconference opponents.

Missouri

When Missouri left for SEC with Texas A&M in 2011, they were leaving behind a short history with Texas. Since 1996, the two schools have played each other 10 times — most recently in the 2017 Texas Bowl.

Despite making the SEC championship in two of their first three seasons, the Tigers have never felt like they belong. Big 12 North sounds a whole lot better than SEC East in Columbia. Missouri has tried to get back to its roots, scheduling Kansas, Kansas State, and Colorado in future years.

For a newer generation of Texas fans, playing against Missouri would have a similar feel to playing Arkansas this upcoming season. A regional-ish opponent in the SEC who feels as if they could be a yearly matchup. A non-bowl matchup of old foes would satisfy both sets of fans.
