Texas is going to be targeting and taking quite a few defensive back prospects in their 2022 class. One of the top priorities will be four-star safety Bryan Allen Jr. from Aledo. The Longhorns and Oklahoma are seen as the favorites for the defensive back ever since his decommitment from LSU.

247Sports has compared Allen to former Texas safety and current Miami Dolphin Brandon Jones. His 6-foot-0, 180-pound frame will need to become a bit bigger once he gets to college, but Allen possesses all of the tools to be a top safety in the Big 12. Speed and ability/willingness to tackle in open space are both strengths of his when looking at tape.

Aledo is one of the top football programs in the state and Texas has done a poor job landing their players since Jonathan Gray committed in 2012. Three straight 5A-DII state championship trophies have found a home in the Fort Worth suburb and talent oozes out on a yearly basis. Not only would a commitment from Allen bring immediate talent to the Longhorns’ secondary, but also reopen a much-needed Aledo pipeline.
