Texas Football Recruiting: How 2021 prospects performed in Week 12

UT finally enjoyed some success in the recruiting world. They expanded its class with two commits. Here is how they played over the weekend:

It was finally a week where Texas could enjoy some success in the recruiting world.

The Longhorns landed outside linebacker Terrance Cooks during their off day. A four-star prospect, the Shadow Creek High School product was another big in-state recruiting win for Tom Herman.

Three-star Byron Murphy II was the second win of the week for Herman and company. After being committed to Baylor, Texas flipped Murphy just an hour after he decommitted. Much needed help up the middle of the defensive line is on the way.

In the state of Texas, playoff games for division 4A and lower have begun. Within the next couple of weeks, players such as athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders and quarterback Charles Wright will begin their quest for state championships.
