Texas Football Recruiting: Evaluating remaining 2022 wide receiver targets

Wide receiver recruiting is exciting to think about for Texas fans right now. Here are the remaining targets at the position.

Jordan Hudson

Oklahoma fans who follow recruiting won’t have nice words for Texas fans that think Jordan Hudson is a flip candidate. The four-star committed to the Sooners back in July and recently doubled down saying he was not going anywhere. However, Steve Sarkisian is going to continue to push.

During his sophomore and junior seasons, Hudson has tallied over 2,000 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns against 6A competition. The No. 4 receiver in the state of Texas would fit in perfectly with Sarkisian’s RPO style offense, running across the middle of the field effectively and being elusive in open space.

Flipping from Oklahoma to Texas and vice versa is basically unheard of. It did happen during the 2021 cycle with four-star athlete Billy Bowman flipping from the Longhorns to Sooners. A little bit of payback could be on the mind of the coaching staff in Austin, taking away one of Lincoln Riley’s soon-to-be star wide receivers.
