Chris Marshall
After not playing football until the beginning of his junior season, Chris Marshall has rapidly shot up recruiting boards. We even labeled him as one of the prospects Texas needed to land over Texas A&M. Marshall mainly focused on basketball during his first two seasons of high school. Once he put on pads and a helmet, Marshall won District 11-5A-II Offensive MVP.
His junior season stats read as such: 45 passes for 1,009 yards and 18 touchdowns. For a guy who had never played football, that is pretty darn good. Four SEC programs, including Auburn and LSU, have offered him since the New Year. If Marshall can put out better tape during his senior season, more national programs may come calling.
However, Marshall’s recruitment is expected to be a classic Texas vs Texas A&M battle. Steve Sarkisian and Andre Coleman will be foaming at the mouth to sign Marshall, knowing there is raw talent ready to burst onto the scene. Getting the four-star in Austin may be the most important in-state receiver commitment outside of Evan Stewart.
