Texas Football Recruiting: Evaluating remaining 2022 wide receiver targets

Wide receiver recruiting is exciting to think about for Texas fans right now. Here are the remaining targets at the position.

Kevin Coleman

Even when Tom Herman was the head coach, there was mutual interest between Texas and Kevin Coleman. The Longhorns may not have been legit contenders for the five-star but that all changed when Sarkisian was hired. Texas made Coleman’s top eight list and will mainly face competition from Alabama.

In the open field is where Coleman is the most dangerous. Quick and explosive moves usually find defenders chasing after the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri. His 5-11,170-pound frame will need to be added on to, but Coleman should be able to line up across the entire field in college.

Whenever you’re going up against Nick Saban and Roll Tide, it is going to be difficult to win. However, two of Texas’ best recruiters, Jaydon Blue and Maalik Murphy, seem to be working on bringing Coleman down to Austin. If they are successful, a wide receiver class of him, Evan Stewart, and Armani Winfield are deadly enough.
