What is Gavin Hardison going to have to do to stay in this game

“Well for starters he’s going to have to be healthy. the Miners don’t have a backup quarterback right now. TJ Goodwin was their backup quarterback. Turnovers could happen with Hardison. He likes to throw the ball, he likes to throw on the run. So maybe they make him a little more conservative in this game against Texas.”

“I liked what I saw from him in his starting debut as a quarterback. You’re talking about a guy who came over from New Mexico Military Institute. I thought he played pretty well for the Miners. He threw some nice balls. He had some really good connections with Jacob Cowing and Just Garrett. Now I really expect the Texas defense to shut down Cowing and forced Hardison to use guys like Garrett, Devaughn Cooper and Walter Dawn Jr instead in the passing game.”

By the sounds of the conversation, the Miners are going to need to take a conservative approach to their matchup with Texas. Often times in games of this nature, the underdog will put out all the stops for this type of atmosphere. They have nothing to lose, so why not push all your money to the center of the table.

Predictions

On how this game is going to go, Broaddus of ESPN El Paso stated that he thinks the game gets out of hand rather quickly. “Last week’s 14-3 start is very probable for the Longhorns. Unlike last week I don’t see Texas relinquishing that lead and actually I see them building upon it. UTEP is there to pick up a paycheck and try to use these games in recruiting tactics.”

In his final prediction, Broaddus picked the Longhorns to cover the 42.5 point spread.

Texas 50, UTEP 6
