Although the season didn’t end with a Big 12 title, there were still several positive takeaways for Texas.

At the conclusion of each season, Longhorns Wire staff honors the top players on each side of the ball. Rather than just declaring the offensive and defensive MVP’s for Texas, Patrick Conn and Cami Griffin chose to focus on the most memorable moments, individual performances and biggest surprises.

Joseph Ossai, Sam Ehlinger, DeMarvion Overshown, Bijan Robinson and Joshua Moore each had an impressive year in their own right. While there was plenty of hype surrounding Ossai and Robinson prior to the 2020 season, Overshown and Moore were considered pleasant surprises.

In terms of the top moments of the year, there were no shortage of thrilling finishes to choose from. Texas went into overtime in three contests — Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
