The Texas offensive line is among the best in the country heading into the 2024 season. Those within the state are taking notice.
Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s Mike Craven ranked the top offensive linemen within the state of Texas. Kelvin Banks Jr. took the top ranking while DJ Campbell ranked No. 6 in the state.
Craven went in detail on why Banks is the best at the position.
“The big man from Humble Summer Creek is a future Top 10 draft pick in 2025. He’s started every game in his college career (27) at left tackle for the Longhorns. He was a second-team all-Big 12 selection as a (freshman) and a first-team member as a (sophomore) in 2023. He was the best offensive lineman in Texas entering 2023 and that remains true in 2024.”
Texas transfer and current SMU offensive lineman Logan Parr made the list at No. 7 behind DJ Campbell.
Surprisingly, the list did not include Texas center Jake Majors the veteran who begins his fourth season as a starter in Austin. Nevertheless, it’s clear the Longhorns’ offensive line has the respect of many heading into the 2024 season.
