Texas Baseball: Longhorns win two-game series against Nevada

The Texas Longhorns baseball team kept their winning streak alive as they swept the Nevada Wolfpack in a two-game series.

Game 2: Longhorns 6, Wolfpack 5

Game two got started with a Douglas Hodo III home run in the second inning to get the bats going. Hodo would end up hitting two of four for two RBIs on the day.

Eric Kennedy had another solid game, hitting three of four, as well as Cam Williams, who was two of four with an RBI.

Texas actually had a big lead going into the eighth inning with a score of 5-1. However, a Wolfpack four-run rally would tie the game up 5-5 going into the bottom of the eighth.

Hodo and Mitchell Daly returned to the spotlight at the right time. Daly hit what would be the game-winning double, bringing home Hodo for the final point scored in a 6-5 victory for Texas.

Aaron Nixon (3-2) got the win after only pitching 1.0 innings, giving up one hit. The majority of the game was pitched by Pete Hensen, who pitched 7.0 innings and gave up three runs on six hits along with two strikeouts.

Lucas Gordon came in the final inning to earn the save with one strikeout, giving Texas the series win.
