The biggest story of the game surrounded Ivan Melendez attempting to get a home run in his seventh consecutive game. Even though he would fall short, he would provide what would be one of the biggest plays of the game as he hit a double in the third inning that brought home Silas Ardoin and Zach Zubia for two runs.
Aside from the eyes being on Melendez, Zach Zubia and Eric Kennedy each also go two hits in this contest. Zubia went two for two, while Kennedy hit two for four with an RBI.
