Texas Baseball: Longhorns sweep Kansas State

The Texas Longhorns baseball team swept the Kansas State Wildcats in a three-game series over the weekend.

Game 1: Texas 13, Kansas State 6

Melendez hit his fourth straight home-run in game one, but it was Mike Antico who had the hottest bat of the game, hitting four out of five at-bats with five RBI’s.

The score stayed relatively close for much of the game. With Kansas State leading 6-5 halfway through the eighth inning, the Longhorns exploded with an eight-run inning headlined by a Mike Antico double which would bring home all three men on base, giving the Longhorns a 13-6 lead and the win.

Aaron Nixon (2-2) got the win after pitching 1.1 innings, giving up no runs and one hit with two strikeouts. Ty Madden pitched the majority of the game through 6.0 innings, giving up five runs with two strikeouts.
