The Longhorns came out swinging fast, scoring five runs in both the first and third innings, capped off by a Douglas Hodo III home run in the fourth. He would go two for two with three RBIs in this one.

A handful of Longhorns had multiple hits on the day as well. Mitchell Daly (two for four with two RBIs), Zach Zubia (two for three with two RBIs), Eric Kennedy (two for four) and Murphy Stehly (two for three with three RBIs).
Ty Madden (5-1) got the win after pitching only 5.0 innings and allowing just three hits with eight strikeouts.
The Wildcats were only ever close before the first pitch.
