Texas Baseball: Longhorns dominate, sweep Kansas

The Texas Longhorns swept their three-game series against the Kansas Jayhawks.

Game 2: Texas 7, Kansas 0

Texas’ designated hitter, Ivan Melendez, had an absolute clinic on day two of the series. He got a hit on four out of five at-bats, with an RBI and scored twice.

The game was a low-scoring 3-0 affair through the first seven innings, but Texas would score two runs in each of the last two innings and did not allow a run in return to seal the shutout.

Tristan Stevens (4-1) pitched 7.0 scoreless innings on seven hits with four strikeouts. Quintanilla Cole would finish the game with two strikeouts, giving up only one hit.
