Ty Madden (4-1) had a long, dominant game on Thursday as he pitched 8.0 innings and allowed only one run on seven hits. He also keeps climbing the strikeouts leader board of the NCAA with five on the day (55 for the season).
The team had 11 hits on the day, but eight of them came way of only three players: Mitchell Daly (hitting four of five), Zach Zubia (hitting two of four) and Eric Kennedy (hitting two of five).
What was a low-scoring game was highlighted by Zach Zubia’s one-run triple in the eight, which started off the scoring outburst from Texas leading to three runs in the inning.
