Texas A&M’s roster will be depleted heading into the Las Vegas Bowl vs. USC on Friday, December 27, as NFL Draft departures couple with 19 players who entered the transfer portal left several position groups paper thin, but that’s the case for nearly every bowl-eligible team.
Knowing that defensive linemen Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, and Shemar Turner have all opted out of the game as they prepare for the draft, this is a good opportunity for young players to step up and continue developing, especially in the trenches.
Nonetheless, our media team noticed some unexpected omissions, especially that senior wide receiver Moose Muhammad III was missing from the depth chart. Meanwhile, departing senior cornerbacks BJ Mayes and Jaydon Hill are included as starters and will participate in their last game for the Aggies.
Offensively, running back Amari Daniels is listed as the starter, but expect sophomore RB Reuben Owens to see more snaps after making his debut during the season finale loss to Texas.
One name to watch at wide receiver is freshman Ernest Campbell, one of the fastest players on the roster who has yet to see the field. He is listed as the backup X receiver behind Noah Thomas.
