The Aggies are ensuring they address some of their pitching woes via the transfer portal. A few days ago, Eldridge Armstrong, a right-handed pitcher, announced his intention to transfer to Texas A&M. The former San Diego State University sophomore has a 7-1 career record, a live arm, and is a talented athlete overall. Below is the pre-college bio from the Aztecs website:
BEFORE COLLEGE: Ranked as the No. 1 third baseman in the class of 2021 from California and 18th overall player in the state, according to Perfect Game … He Was also rated No. 18 at his position nationally and 158th overall by the website … Additionally, he received the highest player grade of 10 by Perfect Game … Merited first-team 2020 preseason PG Underclass All-America honors for the California region after earning high honorable mention in 2019 … Landed a spot on the all-tournament team at the 2020 WWBA World Championship in Fort Myers, Florida … Additionally, competed for the Brewers squad at the exclusive 2020 Area Code Games in Emerson, Georgia.
Armstrong has a good of experience as a reliever and fits well with how Coach Schloss like to play the match-up game.
