Texas A&M will reportedly host elite wide receiver out of the transfer portal this week

Texas A&M will reportedly host one of the top wide receivers in the transfer portal starting on Tuesday

Texas A&M’s 2024 season ended disappointingly after losing to rival Texas 17-7, leading to another 8-4 finish, while the Longhorns are headed to the College Football Playoff in their first season as an SEC team.

While the Aggies will face USC in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 27, head coach Mike Elko and his staff are busy this week after the transfer portal officially opened on Monday. Starting on Tuesday, several visits are lined up with some of the top athletes in the portal.

After it was announced that former Texas Tech wide receiver Micah Hudson would visit College Station later this week, On3’s Steve Wiltfong confirmed that the 8th-ranked player in the portal, former North Carolina State wide receiver Kevin Concepcion, will visit the Aggies on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Texas A&M is desperate for wide receiver talent after this season’s poor results and lack of explosiveness in the passing game, which resulted from needing more talent at the position last offseason. However, it’s nearly impossible not to improve with the amount of veteran talent in this year’s portal.

In two seasons with the Wolfpack, Concepcion recorded 124 receptions, 1,299 yards, and 16 touchdowns, bringing a blend of speed and excellent route running despite dealing with quarterback issues throughout his collegiate career.
