Texas A&M will reportedly host Arkansas transfer CB this week

Texas A&M will reportedly host former Arkansas cornerback Jaylon Braxton this week

Texas A&M’s transfer portal success under head coach Mike Elko will need to replicate what the Aggies accomplished last offseason, even more so if 2025 will be the year to make a run to the College Football Playoff.

After the transfer portal officially opened on Monday, Elko and his staff set up several key visits, including those of wide receivers Micah Hudson and Kevin Concepcion. At the same time, the defensive line could also receive some help.

Texas A&M ended the 2024 season on a low note regarding the secondary’s performance. The team ranked 84th in passing yards allowed, and the season-ending injury to starting slot cornerback Tyreek Chappell left a hole in the unit that never recovered.

However, the news that cornerback Will Lee III will return for the 2025 season is significant. Elko and his staff have now lined up multiple visits this week with transfer corners, including former Georgia CB Julian Humphrey and now former Arkansas CB Jaylon Braxton.

According to TexAgs recruiting analyst Jason Howell, Braxton, whose 2024 2024 season was cut short due to a knee injury, looked like the top cornerback for the Razorbacks going into the year, as the Frisco, Texas native will now consider a change within the SEC.

During Braxton’s freshman season, he finished the year with 21 tackles, a forced fumble, eight pass deflections, and an interception.
