Texas A&M’s 2024 season ended at the hands of USC in the Las Vegas Bowl, as the Aggies fell 35-31 after leading 24-7 in the third quarter. While coach Mike Elko has a lot of work in front of him this offseason, he will not be without two more receivers, including WR Jahdae Walker and tight end Tre Watson, who both declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Watson departs from the Aggies after a single season with the team and three years at Fresno State. Although he didn’t meet the preseason expectations set for him, the New Mexico native concluded the season with 21 receptions, 280 yards, and one touchdown, which included 42 receiving yards in the game against USC.
Texas A&M’s tight end rotation saw multiple players add substantial weight this season to aid inline blocking. While Watson lost some speed compared to his Fresno State days, he is still one of the more versatile receiving options, talented enough to fill out a depth chart and provide some early impact.
Watson joins Jahdae Walker and defensive linemen Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, and Shemar Turner as the five Aggies who have declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
