Texas A&M sees multiple prominent players enter transfer portal

A transfer portal exodus appears to be in the works for the 2024 national runner-up.

A program that saw their head coach, Jim Schlossnagle, depart for the Texas head coaching position Tuesday, the Texas A&M Aggies have now seen the transfer portal movement surrounding their roster begin as a few prominent players in particular entered their names Wednesday.

Those names were Jace LaViolette, Gavin Grahovac, Kaeden Kent, Hayden Schott, and Caden Sorrell, while a few others also entered.

Of those five, arguably the biggest name is that of LaViolette, who was the likely potential frontrunner for 2025 SEC Player of the Year. Across the last two seasons in College Station, LaViolette has posted a combined slash line of .298/.435/.688 with 50 HR, 141 RBI, and 25 SB, which included 29 HR, 78 RBI, and a 1.189 OPS in 2024.

Aside from LaViolette, Grahovac is a significant name as he was named the 2024 SEC Freshman of the Year while posting a .987 OPS with 23 HR and 65 RBI as the Aggies third baseman. Kent and Schott both also hit for a .330 AVG this past season, while Sorrell owned a .928 OPS as a corner outfielder.

With more potential roster changes set to come, will the Aggies now see any additional transfer portal movement in the coming days?
